This privacy policy applies to the HabitPlate app (hereby referred to as the "Application") for mobile devices, created by Howon Kim (hereby referred to as the "Service Provider"). The Application is available for free with optional paid subscriptions and is provided for use "AS IS".
Information Collection and Use
The Application may process information you choose to provide, including:
- Meal photos captured with the camera or selected from the photo library
- Meal descriptions, nutrition estimates, dietary restrictions, course progress, and meal history
- Profile information such as biological sex, age, height, weight, and activity level
- Reminder preferences and subscription entitlement status
Profile information, meal records, course progress, settings, and meal photos are stored locally on your device. The Application does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or password.
The Application does not request or collect your device's precise location. Third-party advertising services may infer an approximate location from standard network information such as your Internet Protocol address.
AI Meal Analysis
When you request AI meal analysis, the Application sends a resized copy of the selected meal photo and relevant meal context to the Google Gemini API. Google processes this information to return food and nutrition analysis. Do not submit photos containing information you do not want processed by this service.
Apple Health
If you choose to import information from Apple Health, the Application requests read access to biological sex, date of birth, height, and weight. This information is used on-device to populate your profile and calculate calorie recommendations. Health data is not used for advertising and is not sent to the Gemini API.
Third Party Access
The Application uses third-party services to provide AI analysis, advertising, subscriptions, and course downloads. These providers may receive information necessary to provide their services, including meal-analysis requests, device and advertising information, purchase entitlement status, Internet Protocol address, and standard network request details.

Google AdMob and its partners may process device information, advertising identifiers, approximate location derived from network information, and ad interaction data to provide, measure, and improve advertising, depending on your device settings and applicable consent choices.
Purchases
The Application uses Apple's StoreKit to offer and verify auto-renewable subscriptions. Apple processes purchase and payment information. The Application receives product and entitlement status but does not receive your full payment-card details.
Opt-Out Rights
You can choose not to use AI analysis, Apple Health import, notifications, or photo access. Camera, photo library, notification, Health, advertising, and tracking choices can be managed in iOS Settings. You can stop local processing by uninstalling the Application.
Data Retention Policy
Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete the relevant content or remove the Application. Deleting the Application removes its locally stored data, subject to Apple's normal device backup behavior. Information processed by third-party providers is retained according to their policies.
Children
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
The Application is not directed to children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through the Application, contact the Service Provider at wintry.seventy.2b@icloud.com.
Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
