This privacy policy applies to the BananaCal app (hereby referred to as "Application") for macOS that was created by Howon Kim (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a paid service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
No Data Collection
BananaCal does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. The Application operates entirely on your device. The Service Provider has no access to your calendar data, usage patterns, or any other information generated while using the Application.
Calendar Access
The Application requests access to your Apple Calendar data (via the macOS EventKit framework) solely to display and manage your events within the Application. This data:
- Never leaves your device through the Application
- Is not shared with the Service Provider or any third party
- Is accessed only while the Application is running
- Remains fully under Apple's standard Calendar privacy controls
You can revoke Calendar access at any time through System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.
Location Access
The Application uses Apple's MapKit framework to display event locations on a map. Location search queries are processed by Apple's servers in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy. The Service Provider does not receive or store any location data.
Local Storage
The Application stores your preferences (such as selected calendars, appearance settings, and world clock time zones) locally on your device using macOS UserDefaults. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted externally.
Third-Party Services
The Application uses Apple frameworks (EventKit, MapKit, SwiftUI) that are subject to Apple's own privacy policies. No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks are integrated into the Application.
Children's Privacy
The Application does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected at all, the Application is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
